Evgeni Malkin at the Point on Power Play, Finally!

The Penguins practiced today with Malkin at the point on the power play.  The Penguins play Philadelphia tonight and the last thing the Penguins need would be the Flyers being able to cheap shot them without any recourse.  The Penguin power play is ranked 29th out of 30 in the NHL.  The number one power play in the league at 24% has forward Ovechkin manning the point for the Capitals,  on top of that, the last time the Penguins played with Malkin at the point when Ryan Whitney was out they were scoring on more than 27% .   Hopefully with Malkin at the point they will stop the stupid “umbrella” system which is useless if most of your shots come from the point position.

The Flyers who played last night, claimed goaltender Michael Leighton off waivers from the Carolina Hurricanes today.

Looking forward to a good Flyer pounding, though I hope the players don’t think this game will be handed to them.
