Gameday Poop: Pens vs. FISHSTICKS

Everyone has had fresh haircuts and been shaved clean for the annual team photos and the Fishsticks are coming off a humiliating event the other night.

I’m not referring to them extending Doug Weight’s (no points in 6 games since returning from IR) contract!  Losing a game 9 to ZIP is…

par for the course for this team.   If this was the Penguins and we gave up 9 goals everyone would be claiming we TANKED. Yet, while giving up the 9 goals the Fishstiacks only got 12 shots on Cam Ward. That is a pretty obvious TANK in my humble opinion.

is an incompetent as it gets and the signing of Doug Weight to a contract extension looks like these guys are not satisfied with this year’s pick but will be a frontrunner for the 2010 pick as well.

This kid reps most Islander fans.
Giving 15-year contracts to a band-aid player like Rick DiPietro who’s played all of 5-games this year and having a roster with little depth they fallen apart piece by piece and have earned the NHL’s lowest point total.

While the NHL and the local media play this out as an important game…
frankly it doesn’t mean a bag of beans to anyone but John Tavares who at least has indicated he won’t pull a Lindros stunt if the Fishsticks draft him.

The NY Islanders can cinch the worst points title tonight and therefore will have a 48.2% chance of winning the first pick overall and a 100% chance of getting nothing less than the second overall pick.
Mathieu Garon starting is goal is a clear indication of our Flightless  Birdies going through the motions and our hope is no one gets hurt .   As it’s shaping up to be the Washington Ovechkin’s in the playoffs.

After (we deservingly) got on Petr Sykora it was nice to see the 300th goal especially crashing the net and will also make note that 10 of his 25 goals this season have been GWG’s.  The Penguins won 6-4 and Sidney Crosby has two goals… but ends up the night a minus four? YIKES.

Side Note info… The Belleville Bulls take 3-1 series lead with 5-2 victory in Niagara and Captain, Eric Tangradi leads the way with 4 goals and 5
