It’s fun with stats time:

There are three forwards in the top 66 players in the NHL with the highest average ice time per game.? The rest are all on defense.

Ovechkin #44?? 23:05 min per game
Malkin????? #52?? 22:39 min per game
Crosby???? #58?? 22:16 min per game

Tonights game features The number one and two game winning goal leaders in the NHL:

Marleau 8
Sykora? 7

Sykora and Ovechkin are tied for second in the NHL with 7 game winning goals each

Sykora has done it with 124 shots compared to Ovechkin’s 345 shots and?Sykora is averaging about 7 minutes less icetime per game

While we are on the Sykora stats:

Petr Sykora is 3rd in the league with 13 Powerplay goals (2 behind the league leader) yet he ranks #82 in average powerplay time per game.

Ryan Whitney is #1 in the league in powerplay time per game and has 0 goals (5 assists in 22 games)
Malkin #6 in the league in powerplay time per game and has 8 goals
Crosby is #8 in the league in powerplay time per game and has 3 goals

I’m not really good with stats, but maybe Sykora should see more powerplay time on the first line.

That’s it for this weeks fun with stats.
