Pens Dominate Canadiens

Are the Pens that good, or are the Canadiens that bad?  It could be that the Canadiens just had an off night, but that was a very lopsided game.  With the exception of a goal on a 5 on 3 power play, Montreal did not mount much of a resistance.

This was the largest margin of victory the Pens have had against the Canadiens…..ever.  It was nice to see them bounce back, again, after a less than stellar performance.  How about Sid , the set-up guy, with 9 goals and 5 assists on the season after getting the hat trick tonight.  It is fun to watch when this team is hitting on all cylinders.  And, all of this without Gonchar or Tyler Kennedy.

Notes:

  • Eric Godard got some power play time in the third period……..and almost scored.
  • Kunitz is officially off the schnide.  (I don’t know how to spell schnide)  I couldn’t be happier for Kunitz.  He has been playing very well, but getting nothing but shit for not scoring goals.  Of course, it is important for a guy on the top line to score goals, but he has been doing other things to contribute during his goal scoring drought.
  • I am not sure why the fans gave Hal Gill a hard time.  He was a very important piece in the Stanley Cup puzzle.

Hopefully, are boys can keep the momentum going through this 3 games in 4 nights stretch of the schedule.
