So, I am very excited to go down to the Mellon Arena to see the Pens play the Philadelphia Flyers last night. I remembered to bring my tickets with me to work, as I don’t often get out early enough to make it home before heading down to the game. As it turns out, I get out early, so I head straight from work to a tavern near the arena. I meet some friends there (including Krundle). We have some grub and some beer, then head into the game. I get to my seat, take off my jacket and sit in the seat. It is at this point that Krundle points out that I seem to be wearing Flyers colors. He couldn’t alert me of this while we were at the bar!
You see, since I did not go home before the game, Idid not get a chance to change. It did not even occur to me that I was wearing an orange shirt. I got dressed for work at like 6:30 in the morning, not considering what I would need to wear for the Penguin game. I happen to put on an orange shirt with some dark grey trim. It’s not like it was a jersey or anything. Well, apparently it is close enough to draw the ire of some of the Penguin faithful. Especially, when I happen to be standing in my section (waiting for a break in the action so I could proceed to my seat) at the same time the Flyers scored a goal. Let’s just say that I got a taste of what it is like to be a Flyer’s fan cheering for his teams goal, in a sea of Pens fans.
I wore my Penguin jacket for the balance of the game!
