Pictures from the last game at the Civic Arena

What a long great trip it’s been. Since the moment the Penguins stepped on the ice on October 5th 2007 the Penguins have been in contention for the Stanley Cup every single day that an NHL game was played right up until May 13th 2010, longer than any other team in the NHL.  A bunch of big stick taps from me to the Pens, it was an incredible run.

Today is not the day to pick apart what went wrong with the Penguins, we will over analyze that here on the PenguinPoop in the near future.  The Pens have a very young team and they will bounce back, that is the one thing that is guaranteed.

As much as I am going to miss the Civic Arena, the new building with it’s expansive work out facilities, it’s better locker room and recreational areas for the players will help the Penguins players deal better with the fatigue that kicks in with the long playoff runs.

Sidney Crosby was the last player on the ice and shook hands with many of the people who work on the ice at the Arena in what I thought was a huge show of class, I wasn’t thinking enough to take pictures of that.

That being said, I will leave you with a few photos I took at the end of the game yesterday:

Starting with 1.3 seconds left in the game.
