As everyone knows the Stanley Cup Finals were set last night, the Philadelphia Flyers and the Chicago Blackhawks. With our beloved Pittsburgh Penguins not in the big dance, some fans may be torn on who to cheer for. On one hand there is Marian Hossa and his high flying Chicago Blackhawks, against the Philadelphia Flyers. To me it’s a no brainer, it will be Blackhawks all the way. Marian has payed his dues. If he had signed with the Penguins, then more than likely Brooks Orpik would be playing somewhere else. I’m sure we would not be able to keep Letang either. So I say, “Marian, thank you.”
It’s not really the Flyer team I dislike, it’s their fans. I dislike Philadelphia sports fans as a whole. I have gone to games several times over the years to the Wachovia Center or the FU Center to watch Flyers/Penguins with my brother in law(who is a die hard fan). I have heard fathers teach their young children to chant, “Crosby Sucks”, or watch fans start fights with people just because they cheer for someone that does not wear black and orange. Black and orange should be saved for Halloween. What kind of example is that for the families that want to take their children to a game? The sad part about this is that I have personally witnessed the transformation of my ten year old nephew from someone that loved sports as a whole, now to someone who whines, boos, and screams about things he has no idea about. His father does not know either. Oh well, I guess that’s a day in the life of a Flyer fan. A person who boos, screams, and whines about a game they can not comprehend. I found this video and I think everyone Penguin fan will enjoy it.
