Well the Penguins stopped by their favorite hockey bar for their traditional end of season

gathering. There are no tales of karaoke tragedies but it appeared the boys had a few beers and tons o’ fun. If you were lucky enough to be at Excuses Bar and Grill Tuesday night not only would you see the best wings in Pittsburgh but some of the best WINGERS as well.

Our Excuses pal Peggy Sullivan (a long time member of Excuses’ Lange’s Gang) said the guys had a ball. She said at first it was like a Junior High dance with all the Pens along one wall and the rest of the Excuses gang on the other. Peggy said it didn’t take long before everyone was mingling and having a good time. Peggy had to laugh as she told me about Jordan Staal and Brent Johnson “duking it out” when it came to picking up the tab. The argument was settled with a good ol’ fashion round of “Rock, Paper, Scissors”.

Unless you just came out of a coma or out from under a rock you must have heard about Excuses and how it is the best hockey bar in all of the ‘Burgh. At Excuses you can hear Mike Lange call the game each and every game. They have a special time machine that they use to make sure that the “Lange O Vision” synchs the radio with television broadcasts.

 

 

If that’s not enough, as I mentioned earlier, Excuses has the best wings in the ‘Burgh. I don’t know how exactly the owner George Pantelas grills his wings, but they are amazingly perfect every time and come in a variety of flavors. If you stop by, say hello, I may be sitting at one of the sidewalk tables waiting out the 127 more days to hockey!
