Here’s a peek at how former Penguins are performing around the league. Stats are updated for games played through Friday, October 27.
Leading the pack are a pair of Vegas Golden Knights—James Neal and David Perron—sandwiched around Los Angeles defenseman Jake Muzzin. Neal tops the Pens alumni in goals (7) and points (10), one point better than Muzzin and three ahead of Perron. Fellow Golden Knight Deryk Engelland leads the way with a plus-8.
With four goals in nine games, New Jersey reclamation project Brian Gibbons has been hands-down the biggest surprise. The diminutive forward hasn’t played in the NHL since 2014-15. Ron Hainsey (six assists) is off to a productive start for Toronto. Chris Kunitz has a goal and two assists for Tampa Bay. Derrick Pouliot has three assists for Vancouver.
Among the goalies, Ottawa’s Mike Condon boasts the lowest goals against average (2.23), followed by Marc-Andre Fleury (2.48). “Flower’s” been out since October 13 with a concussion.
