We are now 2 months into the 2018-2019 season. When last I looked at the Penguins Prospects our Boys of Winter were on top of the Metropolitan Division. A month later, our Penguins are 6th in the Division, 3 points above last place. They are playing better hockey right now at the end of November than their miserable display at the beginning of the month but…..
So let’s take a look at the players waiting in the wings;

Before I go any further, I do want to apologize; when I posted my first look at the Penguins prospects this year, there was a typo I didn’t catch until this month. I had had Jan Drozg scoring 16 goals rather than 6. I bet if he had read that post he would want me to be his official statistician. However, no such luck.
Looking over these stats compared to the first month of hockey, many of the Penguins prospects slumped a little, like the parent team. Calen Addison only picked up 9 more points in 10 games but his +/- improved a little to -6. Jordy Bellerive only picked up 8 points over those same 10 game span.
Other players however seem to keep on rolling or improving. Ethan Prow scored 2 more goals adding 8 assists over the 14 game span last month. He also has built his +/- up to +15. Kasper Bjorkqvist, Nikita Pavlychev, and Teddy Blueger also seemed to have picked their games up or kept pace over the past month. Neither Bjorkqvist nor Pavlychev could be of any help this year (that is if the team needs it – they are trending up again). However Blueger and Prow could be of assistance. Both of these guys could get called up and let’s face it, even in this up turned state, the players ahead of them really aren’t producing. These kids couldn’t do any worse.
