Just a quicky training camp update.

The Penguins split their roster into three teams today as follows:

They expect be to be down to two teams within a week, so it doesn’t appear many of the younger kids and fringe players will be sticking around too long.

An intriguing development, and perhaps a prelude of what’s in store during the coming season. Kris Letang was paired with high-profile free-agent addition Ryan Graves, while Erik Karlsson skated alongside countryman Marcus Pettersson.

Frasca No Oops

Earlier in the day I opined that forward Jordan Frasca might have been omitted from the training camp roster as originally published by mistake.

Uh uh. Turns out, I’m the one in error.

Frasca is one of three forwards currently under contract who were not invited to training camp.

Ouch.

The others? Ty Glover and Lukas Svejkovsky.

The common thread? All had less-than-stellar rookie pro seasons. Glover, a 6’3” 200-pound left wing, tallied seven goals and 12 points (same as Frasca) in 49 games for the Baby Pens. Svejkovsky, a shifty 5’10” 165-pound right wing, scored three goals and 15 points in 47 games in Northeast PA.
