Hey all. Just thought I’d post a deadline day trade tracker to keep track of Penguins transactions. I’ll be adding deals as they happen.
The most recent…an exchange of goalies. We swapped our No. 3 netminder Magnus Hellberg to Florida for Ludovic Waeber.
Waeber, 27, spent his entire career in Switzerland prior to this season. The 6’1″ 187-pounder has split time between Charlotte of the AHL and Florida of the ECHL, with modest results.
Signed as a free agent this past summer, the 32-year-old Hellberg has served primarily as a 1A option and mentor to prospect Joel Blomqvist at Wilkes-Barre/Scranton. During a brief three-game stint with the Pens the towering 6’6″ 220-pounder performed ably, posting a 2.50 goals against average and .922 save percentage while splitting a shutout with Tristan Jarry.
As previously posted on PenguinPoop, the Pens dealt Jake Guentzel to the Hurricanes and Chad Ruhwedel to the Rangers earlier in the day.
Stay tuned for updates.

All and all I think Dubas did well on the return for Guentzel. If anything I would of liked for him
to move some other players - this team needed a "BIG" shakeup. Hopefully it's coming in the
off season. The bright side is Dubas was able to start adding to the Pen's prospect pool. From
what I've watched and read after Yager these (3) prospects are better, and have more upside
than any of the young prospects in the Penguins pipeline.
