Penguins Update: Sid MVP, Bemström Waived

Just a quickie Penguins Update.

Sidney Crosby has been named the team MVP for the 13th time in his illustrious career, eclipsing his former landlord Mario Lemieux, who won the award a dozen times.

Noel Acciari was voted the Unsung Hero Award by his teammates.

In other news, Emil Bemström was placed on waivers. If he clears, he’ll likely rejoin the Baby Pens.

In 13 games with the Pens, the 25-year-old forward managed just one assist. A far cry from the 46 points (including 21 goals) the former fourth-round pick of the CBJ amassed in 43 games with the Baby Pens.
