A quickie post about Baby Pens winger Avery Hayes.
Not only can the kid score, he can fight, too! At 7:28 of the third period of the Baby Pens’ 4-3 overtime loss to Cleveland yesterday, the peppery winger became embroiled in a scrap with former Pen Zach Aston-Reese.
The combatants shed the gloves and exchanged a vigorous volley of rights, with Hayes knocking ZAR’s lid off before dropping him with another right. All the more impressive given that Aston-Reese can handle himself pretty well.
With 16 goals and 27 points in 34 games, we already know Hayes can score. Now we know the kid can take care of business, too.
Sid All-Time Olympics Scoring Leader
Sidney Crosby tallied a goal and two assists yesterday to lead top-seeded Canada to a 10-2 rout over France. In the process, becoming his country’s all-time Olympics scoring leader, surpassing former Pen Jarome Iginla.
Like Old Man River, Super Sid keeps rolling along.
