Fox Chapel native Bill Thomas?has been placed on waivers by the Penguins.? If he clears, he will be re-assigned to the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins.? He has?recently been a healthy scratch for the Penguins.

In other news the Islanders have scratched their captain Bill Guerin?again for tonights game in hopes that he will drop his no trade clause and make him available for the deadline.? Islander coach Scott Gordon said that a trade was “inevitable.”? There are reports that a deal was made Saturday, and they are just waiting for the other team to sign on the dotted line.

  1. Rutuu, I agree with not going back to the future. I also agree with Regdunlop…Avery, I don’t know why anyone would consider him and I would probably fall over if I heard that he was a Penguin. I hope Guerin isn’t a Penguin either… he’s really been about a zero for a few years. All the talk about St-Louis and Lecavalier I believe has always been that, just talk. They both like it in Tampa Bay. As for Ron Malore, I think the only move St. Louis will make is to get Chris Pronger back.

As to Spector – he’s gay.

  2. There is no way the Pens would pick up Avery. With how important team chemistry was for the Pens last season, and how it was not there as much this season, he would be the last guy they would want to bring in to the mix.
I read that St louis has already rejected the notion of waiving his no-trade clause to come to Pittsburgh.
I don’t see the Pens taking the cap hit for Guerin, nor do I see them trading much for him. With that said, Spector has the possible teams that Guerin could go to narrowed down to 3. One of which he feels is the Pens.

  3. I have also heard that we may be involved in getting Sean Avery, which would be a Ruutu but crazier person. Which could all in all lead up to the Gaborik trade. We would need some “loons” to protect a lineup of small players. Either way it seems they are opening up their roster for some waivered players.

  4. The only thing I find rather strange (waiving Thomas) is that we were already 1 under the player roster limit. Which means mostly two things – the first being that the team has zero interest in Thomas which isn’t a big surprise but also that there will be 2 roster spots open.

Some are speculating we are trying to get Rutuu back. I personally would rather see Vermette or Niel as apposed to Rutuu. Some other say Guerin is coming here. I hope not. Still other are saying something is brewing with St. Louis. My opinion (St. Louis): If it isn’t for Boyes 4getaboutit.
