Glenn Sather fired New York Ranger coach Tom Renney after last nights overtime loss to Toronto. It is the second time in eight days that a coach was fired after losing to the Leafs. That doesn’t say much for the leagues opinion of Toronto.
Tom Renney has taken the Rangers to the playoffs every year he coached there and has them in playoff contention right now. The Rangers are currently in an 0-8-1 free fall and I’m Guessing Sather had enough.
Renney & Therrien were both well known for changing their lineups at the drop of a hat, in fact a Renney/Ranger line generator has gained a lot of internet notoriety:

Any chance Renney would want to come and run the power play for the Penguins?
