Pittsburgh Penguins Draft Predictions

The NHL draft is right around the corner. All 30 teams will be begin drafting the future stars of the NHL on June 25th in Los Angeles.  The Pittsburgh Penguins hold the 20th selection for the 2010. I will breakdown three players that I believe may be on Ray Shero’s radar.

 1.      Mark Pysyk:  Mark is a 6 foot 1 inch; 179 pound right- handed shooting defensemen for the Edmonton Oil Kings of the WHL.  The Hockey News has him rated 20th best prospect in this year’s draft.  Everything I heard about this kid reminds me of Rob Scuderi with offensive upside once he matures. “He often makes plays many junior aged players would not think.” (thescoutingreport.org)

2.    Jarred Tinordi: Jarred is a 6 foot five inch; left- handed shooting defensemen. The son of Mark Tinordi, the former NHL defenseman.  The Hockey News has him rated 22nd best player in this year’s draft.  Although dubbed by some as a project, with Jarred’s size, skating ability, and hockey knowledge he is anything but a project. Penguin poop fans, we may have a replacement for Hal Gill.

3.   Dylan Mcilrath: Dylan is a 6 foot 4 inch; 212 pound right- handed shooting defenseman from the Moose Jaw Warriors of the WHL. The Hockey News rates Dylan there 25th best prospect. This kid is mean, nasty, and has a booming shot from the point. Borrowing a page from Rocky IV, “Whatever he hits, he destroys.” Youtube it!

Ray if you are reading, pick one of these three prospects! They all would look good in a Penguin uniform.
