There’s good news on the Sidney Crosby injury front. Check that…great news! The Pens’ captain skated with skills coach Ty Hennes this morning.

No, he’s not suiting up for Game 6 tonight. Hopefully a precautionary measure. But it fuels hope that Sid might be ready for a Game 7 should one be required.

Ditto goalie Tristan Jarry, who won’t play tonight but seems to be nearing a return. Forward Rickard Rakell, believed to have suffered a concussion in Game 1, is a game-time decision.

With two goals and nine points in only five games, Crosby’s enjoyed a terrific postseason thus far. He’s presently tied for fourth in the league in playoff scoring.

  1. Hey Rick,
I heard Sulli said Rakell was a game time but I think Oconnor is in tonight and they moved ERod up to 2nd line center Keeping the wingers the way they were.

I would rather have Rakell though.

    1. Hey Phil,

I hear ya’ about rather having Rakell. But I don’t mind Rodrigues between Kapanen and Heinen (or Zucker). E-Rod and Kasperi displayed some chemistry early in the season. In fact, I believe Kappy got his hat trick skating with E-Rod.

I’m encouraged to hear that Sid skated today, although Rakell’s been doing the same for the past week and still may not be ready.

Not to read too much into things, but I hope they’re just taking precautions with Sid and that he’s okay. It would be tough to get out of this series without him, let alone playing without him down the road.

      GO PENZ!

      Rick
