Penguins’ Kids Clip Red Wings’ Prospects, 4-3

The Penguins’ kids continued their winning ways yesterday at the 2026 Prospects Tournament, nipping the Red Wings’ youth, 4-3.

By all accounts, the player of the game was Pens defenseman Tomáš Galvas (pictured). Displaying superb skating and edgework, to say nothing of superior puck skills, the 20-year-old Czechian tied the score at 2-2 with a dazzling end-to-end rush that would’ve done the immortal Bobby Orr proud.

Despite his modest size (5’10” 168), Galvas didn’t shy away from physical contact and even deposited a Wings prospect on his wallet with a stiff body check.

Through two games, Galvas has been the Pens’ most noticeable player and arguably the standout of the tournament. Undersized though he is, it appears Kyle Dubas and draft guru Wes Clark may have nabbed a potential gem with the 54th overall pick.

Brayden Edwards (a pair) and rugged Carter Sanderson notched the other black-and-gold goals. A former Lethbridge Hurricane, the undrafted Edwards now has three goals in the tournament. He signed a two-year contract with the Baby Pens back on May 23, 2025.
