Video: Evgeni Malkin’s must watch Dapper Dan speech last night

The Evgeni Malkin speech last night is a must see for anyone who would like an insight to this Russian who has invaded Pittsburgh. Some highlights include Penguins coach Dan Bylsma saying Malkin is the best player to come out of Russia and Malkin saying that he can’t wait to do the whole win the Stanley Cup thing again. It truely gives me great pride to be a Pittsburgher just watching it.

The Pittsburgh Penguins also won best sports moment of 2009 for the hand off of the Stanley Cup from Mario Lemieux to Sidney Crosby. Ray Shero accepted the award.

Don’t get me started on Penn State getting the award for Pittsburgh sportswomen of the year. They are a great volleyball team and if they were from Pittsburgh they should easily have won the award (maybe even three years in a row). While I am sure Penn State is a fine institution, Penn State is further away from Pittsburgh than Cleveland. Should we start including Cleveland in the Dapper Dan Pittsburgh sportsman of the year?
